Over half a year ago, I made 10 post with class balances. Let’s revise.

Welcome. Please give feedback to this post if something is wrong.

Changes will be written like this. If there were major changes, it will be noted a (reworked). It will also be noted if it is (buffed), (nerfed) or (balanced)

General balance:

  • (+) on hit melee: heal +40 health (this effect is reduced for non-Stock weapons)

  • (+) movement speed increased from 100% to 107% (7% buff)

  • (+) partical count increased from 13.3/sec. to 14/sec. (5% buff)

  • (+) primary ammo increased from 200 to 210 (5 buff)

  • (+) attack interval increased from 0.075 to 0.072 (8% buff) (due to the higher partical count)

  • (i) the base damage shows no longer the “max”, instead it shows the actual base damage

  • (-) ammo cost/sec. increased from 12.5 to 14 (12% nerf)

Weapon balance:

Backburner (balanced)

210 clip size, N/A max primary ammo

When attacking from the front: Base: 73/sec., Crit: 218/sec., Afterburn: 8/sec. x 10 sec.

When attacking from behind: Base: 91/sec., Crit: 273/sec., Afterburn: 8/sec. x 10 sec.

(i) on hit: ignite enemy

(i) secondary fire blasts compressed air which knocks back enemies, redirects enemy projectiles, and extinguishes flames on teammates, using 40 ammo per blast. All deflected projectiles will inflict Mini-Crit damage

(+) extinguishing allies will heal +20 health

(+) Afterburn reduces Medi Gun healing and shield resists by 20%

(+) deals Crit damage when attacking from behind

(+) Silent Killer: attacks are much quieter

(-) airblasts cost 100% more ammo (40 from 20)

(-) deals 20% less damage when attacking from the front

(-) no random critical hits

Degreaser (balanced)

210 clip size, N/A max primary ammo, Base: 77/sec., Crit: 232/sec., Afterburn: 2/sec. x 10 sec.

(i) on hit: ignite enemy

(i) secondary fire blasts compressed air which knocks back enemies, redirects enemy projectiles, and extinguishes flames on teammates, using 25 ammo per blast. All deflected projectiles will inflict Mini-Crit damage

(+) extinguishing allies will heal +20 health

(+) Afterburn reduces Medi Gun healing and shield resists by 20%

(+) +50% faster deploy and holstering speed

(-) deals 15% less damage

(-) deals 75% less afterburn damage

(-) airblasts cost 25% more ammo (25 from 20)

Phlogistinator (reworked)

140 clip size, ∞ max primary ammo, Base: 91/sec., Crit: N/A, Afterburn: 8/sec. x 10 sec.

(i) on hit: ignites enemy

(i) secondary fire creates a small shield for 2 seconds. It destroys projectiles and pushes back enemies. Has a cool down of 6 seconds

(i) charges “Mmmph” meter with damage done – deal 600 damage to fully charge meter

(i) at 100% charge, press “Reload” to activate it: It grants the user 10 seconds of:

(+) guaranteed Mini-Crits

(+) raises damage resistance by 50%

(-) -50% less health from Medics

(+) Afterburn reduces Medi Gun healing and shield resists by 20%

(+) does not require ammo (replaced an ammo bar)

(-) ammo is slowly regenerated (10 ammo/sec.)

(-) -33% smaller clip size

(-) gained/earned Crits are reduced to Mini-Crits

(-) deals 80% less damage against buildings

Dragon’s Fury (buffed)

40 clip size, N/A max primary ammo, Afterburn: 8/sec. x 2 sec.

Against non-burning players: Base: 25, Crit: 75

Against burning players: Base: 75, Crit: 225

(i) on hit: ignites enemy

(i) secondary fire blasts compressed air which knocks back enemies, redirects enemy projectiles, and extinguishes flames on teammates, using 5 ammo per blast. All deflected projectiles will inflict Mini-Crit damage

(i) a single-shot flamethrower that launches a fast moving projectile that shortly ignites enemies

(i) uses a shared pressure tank for primary fire and Alt-Fire

(+) extinguishing allies will heal +20 health

(+) Afterburn reduces Medi Gun healing and shield resists by 20%

(+) deals 300% more damage against burning players

(+) fireball projectile cannot be deflected

(+) +50% repressurization rate on Primary fire

(-) -25% repressurization rate on Alt-Fire

(-) -75% less afterburn duration

(-) no random critical hits

Detonator (buffed)

1 clip size, 16 max secondary ammo, Base: 26, Crit: 77, Afterburn: 6/sec. x 10 sec.

(i) on hit: ignites enemy

(i) Alt-Fire: detonates flare in flight, creating a small explosion which ignites nearby enemies. This allows the user to perform a flare jump

(i) flare detonates on impact

(i) reloads automatically when not active

(+) flares destroy stickybombs

(+) deals Mini-Crit damage against burning enemies

(+) Can be fired into water to damage enemies (no afterburn will be applied)

(-) 50% self-damage vulnerability (take 13 damage when flare-jumping)

(-) deals 15% less damage

Mannmelter (buffed)

1 clip size, ∞ max secondary ammo, Base: 40, Crit: 120, Afterburn: 6/sec. x 10 sec.

(i) on hit: ignites enemies

(i) no extra damage on burning players

(i) reloads automatically while not active

(+) Alt-Fire: removes negative effects from teammates, so gaining 1 Crit (max: 35)

(+) helping teammates will heal you +20 HP

(+) deals 33% more damage

(+) does not require ammo

(-) has a 1.5 second cool down between each shot (MvM upgrades reduce or remove the cool down)

(-) no random critical hits

Scorch Shot (nerfed)

1 clip size, 16 max secondary ammo, Base: 20, Crit: 60, Afterburn: 6/sec. x 10 seconds

(i) on hit: ignites enemy

(i) reloads automatically when not active

(+) on hit: knocks back target and ignites enemies (does not stun-lock)

(+) deals Mini-Crit damage and increased knockback against burning targets

(+) flares destroy stickybombs

(-) deals 33% less damage

(-) no random critical hits

Thermal Thruster (buffed)

2 clip size, ∞ max secondary ammo

(+) airblasts nearby enemies when launching and/or landing

(+) extinguishes flames on teammates when launching and/or landing

(+) deals 3x the fall damage to an enemy you land on

(+) fall damage is decreased when using a charge (goes in effect if not stomping on enemies)

(i) after using a charge, it has to recharge (about 15 seconds or with 2 of any ammo pack) to be used again

(-) +30% knockback from all sources while active

(-) -100% slower holstering speed

(-) -15% slower move speed while active

Gas Passer (reworked)

1 clip size, ∞ max ammo

(i) creates a horrific visible gas cloud that coats enemies with a flammable material (duration of 10 seconds)

(+) igniting the cloud causes an explosion dealing 50 damage to nearby enemies

(+) enemies covered in gas ignite into afterburn if they take damage (even Pyros!)

(+) enemies covered in gas count as wet (even after being ignited)

(+) partially nullifies cloak of enemy Spies

(-) spawning and resupply do not affect the Gas meter

(-) Gas meter starts empty

(-) Gas Passer can be deflected by Pyros

(i) after use, it has to recharge (after 30 seconds or with 600 damage). Charges Phlogistinator meter 50% less

Axtinguisher (balanced)

Base: 65/43, Crit: 195/129

(+) deals Mini-Crit damage against burning targets and extinguishes them (max: 172 (10 sec. left), min: 88 (0.5 sec. left))

(+) damage increases based on remaining duration of afterburn

(+) on kill: gain a speed boost for 4 seconds

(+) on hit: heal 20 health

(-) deals 33% less damage against non-burning players

(-) -35% slower holstering speed

(-) no random critical hits

Homewrecker (balanced)

Base: 49, Crit: 146

(+) deals 100% more damage against buildings

(+) removes Sappers in 1 hit

(+) on hit: heal 20 health

(+) raises Sentry bullet resistance by 50% while active

(+) raises Sentry knockback resistance by 50% while active

(-) deals 25% less damage against players

(-) -20% slower firing speed

(-) no random critical hits

Powerjack (nerf)

Base: 65, Crit: 195

(+) on hit: heal 20 health

(+) on kill: heals 25 health

(+) +15% faster move speed while active

(-) raises damage vulnerability by 20% while active

(-) -50% slower holstering speed

Sharpened Volcano Fragment (reworked)

Base: 52, Crit: 156, Afterburn: 12/sec. x 10 sec.

(+) on hit: ignites enemies

(+) on hit: heal 20 health

(+) deals 50% more afterburn damage

(+) deals Crit damage while user is airborne

(-) deals 20% less damage

(-) -50% slower deploy speed

(-) no random critical hits

Third Degree (reworked)

Base: 55, Crit: 166

(+) on hit: heal 20 health

(+) damage transfers to all players connected by Medic beams

(+) deal Mini-Crit damage against players connected by Medic beams

(-) deals 15% less damage

(-) no random critical hits

Hot Hand (reworked)

Base: 65, Crit: 195

(+) burning targets grant a 7.5% speed boost for 5 seconds while active (stacks up to 30%)

(+) Alt-Fire: gives a medium ammo kit to teammates. Has a cool down of 12 seconds

(+) on hit teammate: removes negative effect and grants 2 seconds of effect immunity

(-) ammo is taken from the primary reserve (105 ammo/medium kit)

(-) 50% of the removed effect duration is transferred to the user

(-) -50% slower deploy speed

(-) raises damage vulnerability by 10%
