r/Scams – Question about a scam

My brother recently put an item up for sale on fb marketplace, he was contacted by a potential buyer who was really keen but then they said they wanted to send someone else to pick it up (which im pretty sure is a red flag) so i told him to block and ingnore that person. My brother had some questions about the scam could someone please help out as i am not well versed in this topic.
