Written by BANKA: Three youths, in their twenties, have been arrested for allegedly committing gang-rape with a 16-year-old girl at a village under Dhoraiya police station in Banka district, police said on Saturday.
The minor girl, who is stated to be a resident of neighbouring Jharkhand state, was friends with all the three accused on social media platforms and had come to meet them without informing their family members. The accused were held late Friday evening.
Banka SP Dr Satya Prakash said the incident occurred on the night of March 16 and it came to light after the rape victim somehow managed to reach Dhoraiya police station and narrated the incident, besides lodging an FIR against the three youths on March 17.
The accused were identified as Niteesh Kumar, Sadashiv Mandal (cousin of Niteesh) and their friend Vikash Kumar, all residents of same police station area.
